Praying for Peace and Health

I have a close friend who is expecting her third baby in early August. Her baby is very active and appears healthy. However, she is worried about the baby's position while preparing for the labor process.

She has prayed for me unceasingly and I would like to offer the same back to her as well as make everyone aware that she needs peace and continued health for both of them as the delivery approaches.

"Lord, touch my friend and her baby. Calm the nerves and bring your peace to her home so that her family may enjoy one another as they await their newest family member's arrival to their arms. Amen."

Nightly Prayers

Every night I pray with my girls before bedtime. I sit by their bed, rub their foreheads with my hands, tell them I love them, and say our prayers.

Every night I would pray the exact same words for Megan.

"Thank you, Jesus, for my Megan.
Give her a good night's sleep and protect her tonight.
Help her to not be afraid
And to always know that You are with her.
In Your Name, Amen."

I was always afraid that Megan would need something and not be able to tell me about it or that she would be afraid and I wouldn't know it.

Monica's prayer was:

"Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
Let angels watch me through the night.
Until I wake with morning light."
(And then she could add anything else on her mind too)

Last night Monica and I were praying and Megan's prayer came to my head as it has almost every night since she's been gone. Monica and I prayed:

"Thank you, Jesus, for today.
Give us a good night's sleep and protect us tonight.
Help us to not be afraid
And to always know that You are with us.
And give Meggie a kiss for us too.
In Your Name, Amen."

A Prayer for Megan

Lord,
I come to you right now as a mother advocating for her daughter's comfort and healing as only you can provide. I was hesitant to allow the doctors to use smaller peripheral IVs to treat her blood infection, but trusted that You would only allow what is best for us and for Megan. She has had two IV's this weekend with 10 tries to place them already, and now she needs a third. Please calm Megan's movements, give wisdom to the nurses, help the doctors make the best decision possible, and give me peace about having this third IV placed in the coming minutes. I love my little daughter so much and I don't want her to needlessly suffer. I ask for swiftness in allowing our family to get a good night's sleep so that we may draft a new plan in the morning for Megan's future in the hospital or our administration of her antibiotics at home. I know you can work miracles and have seen them in our own lives in the very recent past.
In Your Name,
Amen
